One of the central truths of the Bible is that GOD calls His people to walk in Grace, and not in pride.
Pride elevates self, but Grace exalts GOD.
Pride leads to destruction (Proverbs 16:18 – Pride goes before DESTRUCTION, and a haughty spirit before a fall), but Grace opens the door to GOD’s blessing (James 4:6 – GOD opposes the pride and gives grace to the HUMBLE).
GRACE brings salvation, forgiveness, and strength. It teaches us to depend upon GOD instead of ourselves (Ephesians 2:8-9).
LORD JESUS CHRIST, though fully GOD, demonstrated a perfect example of humility and grace. Philippians 2:5-8 describes how CHRIST humbled Himself, becoming obedient to the point of death on the cross. John 13:3-5 demonstrates the act of grace-filled service by washing the disciples’ feet, which means true greatness comes from humility, not pride.
